For anyone under the age of about 35 I probably need to point out that title is a nod to a song from yesteryear! I cant believe I’ve reached the age where I need to do that!

I’ve been very quiet recently and I want you to know its frustrating me. I’ve seen signups to this journal coming in regularly (THANK YOU SO MUCH 🙏 ) and feel awful for not posting. That’s not what I’m about and this post is a kick up the backside to get back on the horse again.

The truth is I’ve been busier than I can ever remember. I have a few very exciting things going on with Optix which are going to be huge news as they break over the coming months. Finding Your Passion is unbelievably busy and my online courses, since I updated them at the back end of last year are absolutely flying. At home, the kids are growing up fast and have reached a really cool age where hanging out with them is such good fun. Oh and then of course there’s golf which I’ve taken up (just don’t mention Hat Gate)! I’m a busy boy.

All this said, I need to make more time for thought leadership this year. I’m continuously amazed and humbled by just how many people keep up to date with the things I post here, on linkedin and the other socials I keep. I feel particularly blessed to have a platform where other entrepreneurs can learn from the successes and failures I’ve had over the years. I get at least one of two people write to thank me for this every week so doing this is me giving back where I can.  

This year I also took up writing for Forbes (you’ll be able to keep upto date with my articles there if you’re interested) I wanted to quickly mention that here. I had no idea how stringent the process would be. I wrote my first article (about creating a Digital Strategy) around 5-6 weeks ago. It’s gone through at least three rounds of changes with one editor where they fact check everything and spruce up your spelling and grammar. Now it’s in with a final editor before its allowed on the platform. I’m grateful because it ratifies the legitimacy of the website for me. Not only do you need to prove yourself to be accepted but the editors watch your work like a hawk too. If you have suggestion for content you’d like to see me cover there, do post in the comments below.
