Let's Catch Up: My Sincere apologies for the Radio Silence
"Both of these exciting companies are dedicated to revolutionising the recruitment and talent development spaces"
First off, I want to extend my sincerest apologies for the unexpected quiet period on this journal.
My schedule, lately, has been busier than the M25 at Rush Hour!
The truth is, I've dived headfirst into a few exciting projects that have been consuming much of my time and energy. Before I get posting thoughts and insights again I thought it worth sharing this with you so you’re aware of what I’ve been up to.
So after many years of dreaming, I've finally set up a new community for marketing leaders which you can find here https://www.marketingleaders.community/
The aim of this endeavour is to share the knowledge I pick up from my travels with those I feel the closest affinity to - marketing leaders. A group of individuals (many I class as friends) are time-poor and find it difficult to keep up to date with the pace the digital space moves and so I’ve created this space to become their trusted advisor, watching out on their behalf and giving them actionable tasks for either themselves or their teams to implement. It’s all bite-sized short videos they can consume over a cup of tea - high-level, strategic stuff, not practitioner detail.
I launched this back in Feb and the feedback from the members has been amazing. There is a secondary and important benefit which is that we’ve also created a dynamic platform where these marketing professionals can share ideas, discuss strategies, and support each other's growth. It's been a massive undertaking, but the passion and commitment I see within this community already have made it all worthwhile. If any of this sounds like your jam, come join us.
On top of that, I've taken up new roles on the board of two new ventures, Your Digital Future and Your Tech Future. Both of these exciting companies are dedicated to revolutionising the recruitment and talent development spaces, and I'm thrilled to contribute to their visions. You can find out more about those at
https://www.yourdigitalfuture.co.uk/
Lastly, Optix Solutions, the digital agency I co-founded has enjoyed a period of the greatest growth it’s ever seen. We're busier than ever, helping clients achieve their digital dreams. My role there has changed to become more of a figurehead but you don’t just step back from twenty-plus years in a business you started. We are building the right team to take this business forward under our guidance but that takes time and commitment. I’m glad to say that I’m enjoying that business more than I have for many years. The people and talent in that business are unreal! Oh we also had the small matter of winning the best Boutique Agency in the UK to work for this year thanks to Campaign!
If you follow me on LinkedIn you’ll know I’ve also been flying off to give talks across Europe. My latest destinations being Slovenia and Estonia. I’m a sucker for taking up these opportunities as I just love visiting new places and the chance to be paid to do so is too good to say no to!
Oh and then of course I have two small kids (Oscar and Alexa ) and Mrs B. I do my absolute best to spend every moment outside all the above with them.
In short, I feel tired just reading this post back! So my writing, well, it's taken a backseat. It's not an excuse, but a reality I wanted to share with you.
I do want you to know that I value this space and the conversations we have here. I promise that I'll work on carving out time to keep you in the loop with more regular updates. Your patience and understanding mean the world to me and I enjoy sharing lessons I’ve learnt in business here.
So, thank you for sticking around, and here's to more conversations, insights, and shared knowledge on the horizon.
See you soon
